Community Outreach Program, FBI

Field Office Highlights - St. Louis

The goal of the Community Outreach Program (COP) is to establish a relationship between the FBI and the community. The Federal Government has made great strides toward eliminating the widespread use of illegal drugs through strict enforcement and public awareness campaigns. However, the next step in the journey to eradicate the drug problem is to support the community-based prevention movement through education and coordination of services.

Junior Special Agent ProgramJunior Special Agent Program

As a part of the COP, the St. Louis Office of the FBI has established a Junior Special Agent Program at the Patrick Henry Elementary School. This program is designed to reach "at risk" young people and encourage them to remain drug free and violence free.

Citizens' Academy

The St. Louis Division will be hosting its first Citizens' Academy in order to further enhance our relationships with various business, civic, government, and community leaders. The Academy sessions run for six weeks generally on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m., beginning on October 3 through November 7, 2000. The SAC will act as the host and emcee for the training sessions, which will involve virtually all aspects of the office's operations.

Those attending the Academy will include people from all walks of life residing throughout the Greater St. Louis area. The attendees will have an opportunity to get a very unique, inside look at the FBI. Various employees will make presentations to the group and we are confident that the Academy will be beneficial to both the FBI and the participants.
