NEWS RELEASE

R. Joe Clark, Special Agent in Charge of the Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), announced the robbery of the Citizens Bank of Blount County, Highway 411, Vonore, Tennessee.

At approximately 2:30 p.m. this afternoon, a white male carrying a handgun entered the bank and announced the robbery. The robber obtained an undisclosed amount of money, before fleeing the bank on foot. Witnesses described the robber as a white male, approximately 6'0", weighing between 185 and 200 pounds. He was unshaven, and has shoulder-length sandy brown hair, worn in a ponytail. He was wearing a light brown ball cap, yellow (custom) sunglasses, khaki colored jacket, plaid shirt, light colored blue jeans, and tennis shoes. He was believed to be driving a white older model Chrysler Lebaron bearing Tennessee tags. He was last seen on Highway 411 heading North, toward Maryville.
