F.B.I. COMPUTER CRIME SQUAD INVESTIGATING MCI FOR FRAUDULENTAVOIDANCE OF TELEPHONE ACCESS FEES VICTIMS, WITNESSES ENCOURAGED TO CONTACT NEW YORK F.B.I.

The Computer Hacking and Intellectual Property Squad of the New York Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation has been working in conjunction with the Office of the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, and with U.S. Attorneys Offices throughout the country, in reviewing allegations that telecommunications giant MCI avoided paying terminating access fees by redirecting phone calls so that the fees would be paid by their competitors.

The F.B.I. has conducted numerous interviews regarding these allegations, and additional
information is sought from individuals and corporate entities.
