Task Force Named "Top Cops" in Ohio

The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, which has arrested more than 2,300 violent fugitives since its inception, has been selected by the National Association of Police, the Ohio Attorney General, and the U.S. Marshals Service for three top law enforcement awards.

Michigan Community Hosts Town Meeting

A public awareness campaign and an anonymous telephone tip line have resulted in 300 arrests involving felons with guns in Highland Park. Residents will hear other strategies for reducing gun violence at the community's second annual "Call to Action Town Hall Meeting."

Annual PSN Conference Convenes in Kansas City

Attorney General John Aschroft praised record increases in gun crime prosecutions at the third annual Project Safe Neighborhoods Conference. Federal firearms prosecution increased 68 percent from Fiscal Year (FY) 2000 to FY 2003.

Aschroft Announces $43 Million in Grants

An additional $43 million in grants is now available to combat gun at the community level. The money will be provided to task forces in 92 federal judicial districts to tailor local efforts against gun crime.

PSN Holds Violence Reduction Summit in North Carolina

A 25-year-old man who used PSN-style programs to overcome a life of crime spoke to attendees at a PSN Violence Reduction Summit on Tuesday. The event focused on the programs and practices that have been successful in other cities.
