Leo Lowenthal was born November 3, 1900, in Frankfurt, Germany. He emigrated to the United States on August 8, 1934, and was naturalized on June 14, 1940, in New York City. He was a lecturer in Sociology at Columbia University and employed by Voice of America. This investigation of Mr. Lowenthal was at the request of the Department of State.
