Serial Bank Robber Sought

Thomas J. Kneir, Special Agent in Charge of the Chicago office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is asking for the public's help in identifying the individual depicted in the attached photograph. This individual, who has been dubbed the "Quick and Quiet" bandit, is believed responsible for the robbery of at least five (5) Chicago banks, dating back to April of this year.

His most recent theft occurred on June 2nd when the Liberty Bank branch, located at 7111 West Foster Avenue, was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash. According to witnesses, the robber approached a teller and handed her a note demanding money and threatening her with harm, should his demands not be met. Although the note implied that he was armed, no weapon was displayed and no injuries were reported.

Witnesses have described the robber as a white/male, 25-30 years of age, 5'10" - 6' tall, 160-180 pounds, medium build, with brown hair. He has worn a baseball type cap and carried a dark colored back pack or gym bag during each of his prior robberies.

He has been dubbed the "Quick and Quiet" bandit, inasmuch as the notes handed to the tellers on each of the robberies has instructed them to be "quick and quiet".

This case is being investigated by the FBI's Violent Crimes Task Force (VCTF), which is comprised of FBI Special Agents, Detectives from the Chicago Police Department (CPD) and Investigators from the Cook County Sheriff's Police Department. (CCSPD). Anyone recognizing this individual or having any information about the robberies detailed on the attached list, are asked to call the FBI at (312) 431-1333.

EDITOR's NOTE: Additional copies of the attached photographs are available from the Chicago FBI Press Office, either by courier or e-mail, at (312) 786-2645.
