FBI Joins Hunt for Wheeling Murder Suspect

Kathleen L. McChesney, Special Agent in Charge of the Chicago Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), announced today that a warrant charging ADOLFO S. SANCHEZ with Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution (UFAP) has been filed in U.S. District Court in Chicago. The UFAP charges stem from local charges filed by the Circuit Court of Cook County for the first degree murder of JENNIFER WIEDEMANN.

On the morning of July 20, 2001, WEIDEMANN was found shot to death in the basement of the Wheeling home where she had been living and working as a nanny. Following an intensive investigation, the Wheeling Police Department and North Regional Major Crime Task Force named ADOLFO SANCHEZ as a suspect in the murder.

Information has been received that ADOLFO SANCHEZ may have fled the area and may currently be outside of Illinois. SANCHEZ should be considered armed and dangerous.

ADOLFO S. SANCHEZ is described as a Hispanic male, age 28, 5'8" tall, 130 pounds, black hair, and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of ADOLFO SANCHEZ is asked to call the FBI immediately at (312) 431-1333.
