Pittsburgh Fugitive Arrested at O'Hare Airport

Thomas J. Kneir, Special Agent in Charge of the Chicago Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), announced today the arrest of FADHIL AL-KHALDEY, age 32, of Detroit, Michigan.  AL-KHALDEY was arrested by FBI Agents last night, without incident, after arriving at O'Hare International Airport on a Royal Jordanian Airlines flight from Shannon, Ireland.

AL-KHALDEY's arrest was based on a criminal complaint filed earlier this week in US District Court in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, charging him with an as yet unspecified violation of federal law.  AL-KHALDEY is scheduled to appear before US Magistrate Judge Arlander Keys in Chicago, at 1:00 PM today.  At that time, the  complaint charging AL-KHALDEY should be unsealed.

SAC Kneir would like to thank the Chicago Police Department and the US Customs Service in Chicago for their assistance with this arrest.  The public is reminded that a complaint is not evidence of guilt and that all defendants in a criminal case are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
