Serial Bank Robber Sought

Thomas J. Kneir, Special Agent in Charge of the Chicago Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), is asking for the public's help in identifying the individual believed responsible for the robbery of three (3) Chicago banks in the past 12 days.

Dubbed the "Night Stalker Bandit" as all of the robberies have taken place during the early evening hours, the robber is described as a Male/Hispanic, 25 years of age, 5'9" tall, stocky build, with dark hair and a mustache.

The most recent robbery occurred at the TCF Bank branch, located at 4355 North Sheridan Road. The robber approached a teller and handed her a note, announcing a robbery and demanding cash from her drawer. Although his note implied that he was armed, no weapon was displayed and no injuries were reported. After receiving an undetermined amount of cash, the robber fled on foot, last direction of travel not determined.

The suspected robber followed a similar pattern while robbing TCF Bank branches located at 1210 North Clark on October 23rd and 5516 North Clark on October 17th.

Anyone with information about any of these robberies or recognizing the individual depicted in the attached photograph is asked to call the FBI at (312) 431-1333. (Photographs of the "Night Stalker Bandit" can be obtained from the FBI Public Affairs Office at (312) 786-2645.)
