Night Stalker Bandit Strikes Again; Reward Offered for Arrest

Thomas J. Kneir, Special Agent in Charge of the Chicago Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is asking for the public's help in identifying the individual dubbed the "Night Stalker Bandit". This individual is believed to be responsible for the robbery of at least seven (7) Chicago area banks, dating back to October 17 of this year.

The most recent robbery occurred yesterday when the TCF Bank branch located at 5343 North Broadway in Chicago was robbed of an undetermined amount of cash. As has been his practice in the past, the "Night Stalker" struck during the early evening hours, under cover of darkness. He approached a teller and handed her a note demanding money. The note implied that he was armed, though no weapon was displayed and no injuries were reported. The robber fled the bank on foot, last direction of travel not determined.

The "Night Stalker" is described as a Hispanic/male, 25-30 years of age, 5'8" - 5'10" tall, medium to stocky build, black hair, brown eyes. A complete list of suspected robberies is attached.

Additionally, TCF National Bank and the Jewel Foods Company are jointly offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the "Night Stalker Bandit".

Editors Note: Further questions about the reward offer should be directed to Steve Rubin, TCF Banks Security Manager at (630) 986-4961. Hard copy and E-mails of the attached bank surveillance photo are available from the Chicago FBI Media Affairs Office at (312) 786-2645.
