BANK ROBBER SOUGHT

Kathleen L. McChesney, Special Agent in Charge of the Chicago Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is asking the public's help in identifying an individual suspected of three (3) bank robberies and one attempted bank robbery in the Chicagoland area in the past 5 days.

This individual is described as a black/male, 5'10"- 6'0" tall, 30-40 years of age, medium build, with short hair, and facial hair. On January 5, 2001, this individual attempted to rob the Northern Trust Bank located at 1 Oak Brook Terrace in Oak Brook, and then successfully robbed the Harris Bank located at 1050 Maple Ave. in Lisle. He is also suspected of two bank robberies that occurred on January 9, 2001. The first robbery occurred at approximately 12:00P.M. at the Bank One located at 600 Meacham Rd. in Schaumburg. The second robbery occurred at approximately 12:40 P.M. at the Harris Bank located at 10 Huntington Road in Wheeling.

Although no injuries were reported in any of the robberies, this individual should be considered armed and dangerous. The FBI, the Oak Brook, Lisle, Schaumburg, and Wheeling Police Departments are all investigating. Anyone with information about these robberies or recognizing the robber is asked to call the FBI at (312) 431-1333.
