February 12, 2001 Bank Robber Sought Kathleen L. McChesney, Special Agent in Charge of the Chicago Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), is asking for the public's help in identifying the individual responsible for the February 9th robbery of the Bank of America branch located at 1715 West 47th Street in Chicago. The robbery occurred at approximately 2:00 P.M., when an individual described by witnesses as a Hispanic/male, 25-30 years of age, entered the bank, approached a teller and announced a robbery. After receiving an undetermined amount of cash, the robber fled the bank and escaped in an older model mini-van, green in color, bearing Illinois passenger license plates that began with the letter "D". The robber was wearing a blue jacket with gray hood, a black skull cap and white Nike gym shoes. Although he implied that he was armed, no weapon was displayed and no injuries were reported. The FBI and Chicago Police are investigating. Anyone recognizing the individual depicted in the bank surveillance photograph is asked to contact the FBI at (312) 431-1333.
