August 29, 2001 FBI Arrests 7 in Drug Ring Investigation Kathleen L. McChesney, Special Agent in Charge of the Chicago Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and Terry G. Hillard, Superintendent of the Chicago Police Department, announced today the arrest of seven individuals, all from the Chicago area, in the culmination of a seven-month drug investigation. Those arrested, along with four others, were charged in a criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Chicago by Scott Lassar, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, with violation of Federal drug laws. Specifically, the complaint alleges that those charged distributed large quantities of cocaine, both crack and powder, and marijuana throughout the Chicago metropolitan area. Additionally, one of those charged, DAVID DURAN, is suspected of holding a leadership position in the "Dark Side Two Sixers," a faction of the notorious "Two Sixers" street gang, which operates in Cicero and various parts of Chicago. All of today's arrests were made, without indicent, by FBI Agents and Chicago Police Officers assigned to the FBI's Gang Task Force, who also conducted this investigation. All of those arrested will appear before U.S. Magistrate Judge Martin Ashman, at 3:00 PM today. Those arrested are identified as follows: 1. William Betrucci,
age 42, 2614 West 100th Place, Chicago Four (4) other individuals also charged in the complaint remain at large. They are identified as: 1. David Duran, age 36,
