Suspected Bank Robber Surrenders

Kathleen L. McChesney, Special Agent in Charge of the Chicago Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), announced today the arrest of SEAN A. FARISON,  age 38, who's last known address was in Winfield, Illinois. FARISON is suspected of robbing the Parkway Bank and Trust, 101 South Sutton Road in Streamwood, Illinois on August 20th.

According to a criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Chicago, FARISON walked into the DuPage County Sheriff's Office in Wheaton on August 21st and claimed responsibility for this robbery, in which over $40,000 in cash was taken. As further detailed in the complaint, FARISON turned over to Sheriff's Deputies some of the cash taken in the theft, along with a pellet gun which he claimed to use to threaten bank employees. No injuries were reported during the robbery, which was investigated by the FBI and Streamwood Police Department.

FARISON appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Ian H. Levin in Chicago, late yesterday afternoon, who ordered him held without bond pending his next scheduled court appearance.

The public is reminded that a complaint is not evidence of guilt and that all defendants in a criminal case are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Copies of the complaint filed in this case are available from the FBI Press Office, (312) 786-2645.
