Twenty Second Robber Strikes Again

Kathleen L. McChesney, Special Agent in Charge of the Chicago Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), is asking for the public's help in identifying a serial bank robber, who has been dubbed the "Twenty Second Robber."

This individual, who is described as a white/male, 35 years of age, 5'7" - 5'8" tall, thin build, sandy blonde hair with a pronounced over bite of his front teeth, is suspected of robbing at least three Chicago area banks during the past three weeks. He is called the "Twenty Second Robber" as he gives the teller he is robbing twenty seconds to comply with his demand.

The most recent theft committed by the "Twenty Second Robber" occurred earlier today when the Mid America Bank branch, located at 5075 South Archer Avenue in Chicago, was robbed of an undetermined amount of cash. As has been his practice, the robber entered the bank and approached a teller, handing her a note demanding money. Although his note implied that he was armed, no weapon was displayed and no injuries were reported. After receiving cash from the teller's drawer, the robber fled the bank on foot, last direction of travel not observed.

Other thefts that the "Twenty Second Robber" is suspected of committing include the Labe Bank, 4343 North Elston on March 27th and the TCF Bank branch, 5320 South Pulaski on March 18th. The Chicago Police and FBI are investigating all three robberies. Anyone recognizing the "Twenty Second Robber" is asked to call the FBI at (312) 431-1333.

(Photographs of the "Twenty Second Robber" are available from the Chicago FBI Press Office at (312) 786-2645.)
