Aurora Bank Robbery Investigated

Kathleen L. McChesney, Special Agent in Charge of the Chicago Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), is asking for the public's help in identifying the individuals responsible for the robbery, earlier today, of the Harris Bank branch, located at 1252 North Lake Street in Aurora.

At approximately 7:30 this morning, two bank employees were confronted by two armed robbers as they prepared to open the bank. Both robbers were dressed in black, including ski masks and gloves. After forcing the employees inside, the robbers took an undetermined amount of cash from several teller drawers. They then fled the bank, direction and method of escape not observed.

Although both robbers were armed with black semi-automatic handguns, no injuries were reported. Because of the clothing, witnesses were only able to determine that both robbers were male, 5'8" - 5'10" tall, with medium builds. The FBI and Aurora Police are investigating. Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to call the FBI at (312) 431-1333.
