Westchester Man Arrested on Federal Charges

Kathleen L. McChesney, Special Agent in Charge of the Chicago Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), today announced the arrest of CHRISTOPHER R. ANDERSEN, age 45, of Westchester, Illinois in connection with an ongoing bank fraud investigation. ANDERSEN was arrested this morning by FBI Agents without incident at his residence home located at 1653 Portsmouth, Westchester, Illinois.

ANDERSEN was arrested on a federal criminal complaint which followed a December 2000 indictment charging ANDERSEN with nine counts of mail fraud and bank fraud. The indictment alleges that ANDERSEN induced over seventy-five individuals to invest over five million dollars in two businesses ANDERSEN allegedly operated. ANDERSEN continued to find investors for CROSSLINES, INC., an alleged film restoration and film resale company he operated while under federal indictment.

ANDERSEN appeared before U.S. Magistrate Martin Ashman today and was held without bond, pending his next scheduled court appearance.

The public is reminded that a complaint is not evidence of guilt and that all defendants in a criminal case are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
