"Clark Street Robber's" Crime Spree Continues

Thomas J. Kneir, Special Agent in Charge of the Chicago of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and Terry G. Hillard , Superintendent of the Chicago Police Department (CPD) are once again asking for the public's help in identifying the individual who has been dubbed the "Clark Street Robber". The "Clark Street Robber" is now believed to be responsible for robbing or attempting to rob at least twelve (12) Chicago area banks since mid-August. The most recent robbery occurred earlier today.

At approximately 10:45 A.M., the "Clark Street Robber" entered the Harris Bank located at 6820 N. Lincoln in Lincolnwood , approached a teller and handed the teller a note that demanded money from the teller drawer . Upon receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the robber fled the bank on foot.

Witnesses have described the "Clark Street Robber" as a black/male, 30-35 years of age, 5'8"-6'0" tall, thin build, black hair, brown eyes with a thin mustache. In several of the robberies the "Clark Street Robber" has implied he was armed, but no weapons have been displayed and no injuries have been reported in any of these incidents.
