Suspects Sought in Buffalo Grove Robbery

Thomas J. Kneir, Special Agent in Charge of the Chicago office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is asking for the public's help in identifying the individual depicted in the attached photograph, who is believed responsible, along with a second man, for the robbery of the Harris Bank branch, located at 500 Half Day Road in Buffalo Grove on Friday, October 4th.

According to witnesses, both robbers entered the bank shortly before noon. Robber #1, who is shown in the attached bank surveillance photo, approached a teller armed with a handgun and demanded money. The second robber stood by the door and appeared to act as a lookout. After obtaining an undetermined amount of money, the robbers fled the bank on foot. No shots were fired and no injuries were reported during the robbery, which is being investigated jointly by the FBI and Buffalo Grove Police department.

Witnesses described robber #1 as a black/male, 30-35 years of age, 5'10" - 6'0" tall, medium build, clean shaven with black hair and brown eyes. Robber # 2 is described as a black/male, 55-60 years of age, 6'1 - 6'4" tall, medium build, short grey hair with glasses. Bank surveillance cameras did not capture robber #2 on film.

Both men should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone recognizing the individual depicted in the attached photograph or having any information about this robbery is asked to call the FBI at (312) 431-1333.

EDITOR's NOTE: Additional copies of the attached bank surveillance photo are available from the Chicago FBI Press Office, either by E-mail or courier pick-up, by calling (312) 786-2645.
