Villa Park Bank Robber Sought

Thomas J. Kneir, Special Agent in Charge of the Chicago Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is asking for the public's help in identifying the individual responsible for the May 8th robbery of the Standard Bank branch, located at 1 West Roosevelt Road in Villa Park.

According to witnesses, shortly before 3:00 PM a lone robber entered the bank and approached a teller. He handed her a note announcing a robbery and demanding money. After receiving an undetermined amount of cash, he fled the bank on foot, leaving behind a fake explosive device.

The robber is described as a white/male, 40-45 years of age, 5'6" - 5'8" tall, medium build with gray hair and beard. He was wearing a white brimmed hat, gray rain coat, gloves and sun glasses. Anyone recognizing the individual depicted in the attached photograph or having information about this robbery is asked to call the FBI at (312) 431-1333.
