July 1, 2002 Bensenville Man Arrested for Distribution of Child Pornography Thomas J. Kneir, Special Agent in Charge of the Chicago Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Michael F. Sheahan, Sheriff of the Cook County Sheriff's Office, announced today the arrest of PHILIP MICHAEL SEBOLT, age 21, of 242 East George Street, Apartment E in Bensenville, IL. SEBOLT was arrested this morning at his residence in Bensenville by FBI agents and members of the Cook County Sheriff's Child Exploitation Unit. SEBOLT has been charged in a criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Chicago with Distribution of Child Pornography , which is a felony offense. SEBOLT is alleged to have to distributed at least forty (40) images files and one video clip of child pornography since March of 2002 over the internet. SEBOLT appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael T. Mason and was ordered held without bond until his next scheduled appearance. In making this arrest, SAC Kneir would like to thank the Cook County Sheriff's Child Exploitation Unit for their invaluable assistance in this joint investigation. The public is reminded that a complaint is not evidence of guilt and that all defendants in a criminal case are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. |
