Thomas J. Kneir, Special Agent in Charge of the Chicago Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced today the arrest of VICTOR DONNELL FIELDS, age 21, of Minneapolis, Minnesota. FIELDS was arrested earlier today, without incident, by members of the FBI's Fugitive Task Force (FTF) at an apartment located at 1621 Hilltop in Chicago Heights, Illinois.

FIELDS was wanted by the Brooklyn Park, Minnesota Police Department, a suburb of Minneapolis, for the December 6th, 2001 shooting of two men on a city bus. One of the victims, a 21 year old Brooklyn Park resident, died at the scene.

FIELDS was tracked by the FBI from Minnesota to Milwaukee to Chicago, before being located by Task Force members at the Chicago Heights apartment. The Chicago Heights Police Department provided invaluable assistance to the FTF in locating and arresting FIELDS.

The Chicago FBI's Fugitive Task Force is comprised of FBI Special Agents, Detectives from the Chicago Police Department, Cook County Sheriff's Police Department Officers, Deputy U.S. Marshals and U.S. Secret Service Special Agents.

FIELDS will be turned over to the Cook County Sheriff's Office for extradition to Minnesota.
