Melvin Belli, born in 1907, was an Attorney in San Francisco, CA. He received a threatening letter, postmarked Starkville, MS on March 24, 1964. No one was identified as having sent the correspondence. As an Attorney, he was very active in many high profile cases and his name and picture appeared in many papers and magazines. Belli, represented Jack Ruby, the assassin of Lee Harvey Oswald, who had killed President John F. Kennedy. Melvin Belli was very critical of FBI Director, J. Edgar Hoover.
