MEDIA ADVISORY

The Chicago Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Chicago Police Department are investigating the disappearance of a shipment of unfinished gold that was destined for a refiner in the state of Utah.

The shipment originated four (4) days ago in the West African nation of Benin. It was shipped via commercial airfreight to Paris, France, where it remained for two (2) days. The gold was then loaded onto an Air France flight, with non-stop service to Chicago. The flight arrived at O'Hare International Airport approximately 1:00P.M. Thursday. The gold was determined to be missing later that day, when a local shipping company went to the Air France flight terminal to pick-up the shipment.

No arrests have been made in connection with this incident, which is being investigated by the FBI as a possible Theft from Interstate Shipment.
