October 4, 2000 Chicago Man Arrested on Drug and Weapon Charges Kathleen L. McChesney, Special Agent in Charge of the Chicago Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced today the arrest of ROBERT J. CHICO, age 33, of 8813 South Escanaba, Chicago, Illinois. CHICO was arrested earlier today by FBI Agents, without incident, at his residence. CHICO was charged in a criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Chicago with possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) with intent to distribute and as a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. CHICO appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Sidney Schenkier in Chicago, where he was ordered held without bond pending his next court appearance. The public is reminded that a criminal complaint is not evidence of guilt and that all defendants in a criminal matter are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. |
