Holiday Robber Strikes Again

The Chicago Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Chicago Police Department are investigating the third bank robbery committed in the past four days by an individual dubbed the "Holiday Robber".

The latest robbery occurred earlier today at the Bank One branch located at 122 West 79th Street in Chicago. At approximately 10:15 A.M., a lone robber approached a teller and handed her a note announcing a robbery. After receiving an undetermined amount of cash, the robber fled the bank on foot, last seen headed East on 79th Street. Though his note implied that he was armed, no weapon was displayed.

Witnesses described the robber as a black/male, 35-40 years of age, 5'10"-6' tall, 190-200 pounds, medium build, clean shaven with a dark complexion. During today's robbery, he was wearing a dark colored skull cap, dark pants and a dark colored, medium length parka.

This same individual is suspected of robbing TCF Bank branches located at 87 West 87th Street on Saturday and 1655 East 95th Street on Sunday. During each theft, the robber has made reference to the Holiday season, either orally or in his demand note. Although no injuries have been reported, this robber is believed to be armed and should be considered dangerous.

Anyone having information about any of these robberies or recognizing the robber is asked to call the Chicago FBI at (312) 431-1333. (Photos of the robber can be obtained by calling the Chicago FBI, Public Affairs Office at (312) 786-2645.)
