Serial Bank Robber Arrested

Kathleen L. McChesney, Special Agent in Charge of the Chicago Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced today the arrest of PHILIP B. MOORE, age 46, of 1116 East 67th Street, Chicago, Illinois. MOORE was arrested by FBI Agents at his residence Sunday afternoon, without incident. MOORE is suspected of being one of several serial bank robbers, that have been operating in the Chicago area for the past several months.

MOORE was charged in a criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Chicago, earlier today, with the November 17th robbery of the Marquette National Bank, 9617 South Western Avenue. MOORE appeared before U. S. Magistrate Judge Ian H. Levin and was ordered held without bond, pending his next scheduled court appearance.

The public is reminded that a complaint is not evidence of guilt and that all defendants in a criminal case are presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.
