Holiday Robber Strikes Again

Kathleen L. McChesney, Special Agent in Charge of the Chicago Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is asking for the public's help in identifying and apprehending an individual dubbed the "Holiday Robber". This individual is believed responsible for eight robberies of area banks, dating to mid-November of this year.

The latest robbery occurred on Saturday, December 9th, when he is suspected of robbing the Corus Bank, 530 Torrence Avenue in Calumet City, Illinois. The robbery took place at approximately 12:30 P.M., when the robber approached a teller and orally announced a robbery. Once again, he implied that he was armed, though no weapon was displayed. He fled the bank on foot with an undetermined amount of cash, last seen running east across Torrence avenue.

He has been dubbed the "Holiday Robber", as he makes reference to the holiday season when announcing a robbery. No injuries were reported during this latest incident, which is being investigated by the FBI and Calumet City Police Department.

The "Holiday Robber" is described as a black/male, 30-40 years of age, 6'0" tall, 180-200 pounds, who once again wore a black skull cap and dark colored coat. Anyone recognizing the "Holiday Robber" is asked to call the FBI at (312) 431-1333.

(Photographs of the "Holiday Robber" are available from the Chicago FBI Press Office at (312) 786-2645.)
