Public's Help Sought in Identifying Fraud Suspect

Thomas J. Kneir, Special Agent in Charge of the Chicago office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is asking for the public's help in identifying the individual depicted in the attached photograph, who is wanted for defrauding Bank One of approximately $170,000.

Charged in a criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Chicago under the name of "John Doe", it is alleged that this individual stole home equity line of credit checks from three different account holders, forged the signatures and deposited these checks into accounts established using false identities. The funds were then withdrawn from the accounts before the fraud was discovered.

This individual has used numerous names and aliases, including Odell M. Bigby and Robert L. Osborne. He is described as a black/male, 25-35 years of age, 5'8" tall, 165-170 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Witnesses described him as being well dressed and driving a late model Mercedes-Benz automobile. He also spoke with a heavy accent and is possibly of Nigerian descent.
