| Four Cooperative Science Centers were established through a competitive
selection process. They are:
A Distinguished Professorship has
been established at each Science Centers whose responsibility is to develop
significant NOAA related research projects for their respective centers.
Electronic linkages have also been established at the Science Centers to support
and expand communication to increase the availability of instructional material
in atmospheric, oceanic, environmental sciences and remote sensing among MSI
institutions through distance learning.
