DIXIE LEE RAY

Dixie Lee Ray was the Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission during 1974. Dixie Lee Ray was elected the Governor of Washington State. She was named in the papers filed by two prisoners who attempted a prison escape from Washington State Penitentiary in 1978. These prisoners were wounded while fleeing and filed the complaint. A third prisoner did not attempt to flee and was not harmed. He made no charges against the Governor or the prison officials. The United States Attorney decided that no further investigation was warranted.
