James Douglas Morrison was born on December 8, 1943, in Melbourne, Florida. He was removed from a Continental Airline Flight number 172 on November 11, 1969, for being unruly, not obeying the No Smoking sign by smoking cigars, throwing objects at flight hostesses and not fastening his seat belt. The pilot went back and talked to them, but they became even more unruly after that happened. He was arrested upon arrival of flight in Phoenix, Arizona. He was indicted on four counts of interfering with the flight crew. The flight hostess advised this group was part of the musical group "The Doors." Also, arrested from the musical group was Thomas Frederick Baker. The other members of the band behaved themselves. Morrison was found guilty on one charge, and his sentence was extended.
