Rita Hayworth, a motion picture star, was born on October 17, 1918, in New York City. On September 13, 1953, Rita Hayworth and Dick Haymes received a letter at the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas telling them that if they got married, Princess Yasmin Kahn, Rita Hayworth's three year old daughter by Aly Kahn, would be killed. It did not mention her nine-year-old daughter, Rebecca Wells. The letter told Hayworth to go back to Kahn. Louella Parsons, a well known International News Service movie columnist, received the same type letter referring to Hayworth and Kahn. Rita Hayworth received other extortion threats over the years.
