Anna Mae Pictou Aquash
 

Anna Mae Pictou Aquash born March 27, 1945, in Shubenacadi, Nova Scotia, Canada was one of the suspects in the Reservation Murders of Special Agent Ronald A. Williams and Special Agent Jack R. Coler on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, Ogalala, SD on June 26, 1975. Ms. Aquash was arrested pursuant to a search warrant on the property of Al Running, Rosebud Indian Reservation, Grass Mountain Area, SD. She was questioned as to her knowledge of the whereabouts of fugitives Leonard Peltier and Dennis James Banks. She only answered personal information about herself and would not discuss any additional information about her association with other members on the Indian Reservation. The body of Anna Mae Aquash was found on February 24, 1976, near Wanblee SD on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. The autopsy disclosed that the body had been deceased for one to two weeks before being discovered. It was determined that she had been shot in the back of the head.
