Virusesiruses, whether they are "worms", "trojan horses", "denials of service", or "viruses", threaten the integrity and usability of computer systems at NCI-Frederick everyday.  In order to safeguard computer systems critical to the mission of the NCI-Frederick, employees are encouraged to:
 
Review the Latest Virus Information from C&SS (updated 7/26/2004)
   
Install and Use Anti-Virus Software (available freely from the Computer Services Helpdesk)
Keep Virus Definition Files (commonly called DAT's) Up-To-Date
Beware of Hoaxes (usually disguised as well-intentioned warnings)

While Computer Services will alert users (via Majordomo) of any viruses that particularly threaten the NCI-Frederick campus, users are encouraged to regularly check the Symantec Anti-Virus Center for timely alerts.

Remember, if you think you're computer may have a virus, stop using the system and immediately contact the Computer Services Helpdesk for further assistance.
