We do not collect personal information about you when you visit our site unless you choose to provide that information to us. Submitting voluntary information constitutes your consent to use the information for the stated purpose.

Cookies: The National Severe Storms Laboratoey does not use "persistent cookies" or any other persistant tracking methods to collect personally identifiable information about visitors to its Web sites. Types of information we collect, maintain and share

...when you read or download information from this Web site

We collect and store the following information: the date and time, the originating IP address, the type of browser and operating system used (if provided by the browser), the URL of the referring page (if provided by the browser), the object requested, and the completion status of the request.

We use the information we collect to measure the number of visitors to the different areas of our site, and to help us make our site more useful to visitors. This includes analyzing these logs to determine the traffic through our servers, the number of pages served, and the level of demand for pages and topics of interest. The logs may be preserved indefinitely and used at any time and in any way necessary to prevent security breaches and to insure the integrity of the data on our servers.

...when you submit an online form

Some of our pages provide forms allowing visitors to submit search engine queries, questionnaires, feedback, or other information.
