The National Advanced Fire and
Resource Institute is a national level center for strategic
planning, development, and implementation of fire, fuels, resource,
and incident management skills and educational processes.
Vision – NAFRI
is dedicated to the diverse interagency fire, fuels, resource, and incident
management community in developing and enhancing learning experiences.
The institute assists in the creation of innovative solutions that concern
the all-risk environment.
Guiding Principles - Throughout
all our many activities and relationships, we continually embrace six
major goals that vitally affect all course participants, alumni, and
faculty:
• Enhance opportunities to elevate course participant skills with continuous
education, and knowledge.
• Encourage interagency support in the successful pursuit of excellence
to educate.
• Build upon the rich history of fire and aviation’s accomplishments.
• Serve and engage all alumni in learning opportunities, particularly through
the Lessons Learned Center.
• Connect alumni to each other through effective communication, facilitating
a spirit of dynamic knowledge transfer between alumni with diverse interests,
talents, and backgrounds.
• As stewards, NAFRI will engage in strategic planning; implement, direct,
and review authorized programs, modify goals and operations as deemed necessary;
and assess course participants, alumni, faculty, and administrative performance
regularly.
