Dutch Ruppersberger’s legislation that would reimburse victims of food stamp theft – a crime that is on the rise in communities across the country – is gaining bipartisan support as it advances through the legislative process in both Congressional chambers. Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01) has now joined as the first Republican cosponsor of the bill and plans for companion legislation in the U.S. Senate are underway.
