  • Parks for the People, Where the People Are

    Congresswoman Pelosi celebrated the 50th anniversary of Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) with Amy Meyer, one of the original founders of the People for a GGNRA, North Bay Congressman Jared Huffman, and community leaders. A proud accomplishment of her predecessor, the late former Rep. Phillip Burton, GGNRA is one of the largest national parks in an urban setting with more than 82,000 acres of parklands, 60 miles of coast and more than 15 million visitors per year.
  • Feeding Our Community

    Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi joined Florence Fang, Ted Fang and community members for a tour and discussion at the Florence Fang Community Farm in the Bayview. During the roundtable discussion, Pelosi heard from youth, local education leaders and nutrition experts about food sovereignty systems and the need for communities to have access to grow and take control of their own food supply. The Fang Community Farm benefited from $375,000 in federal American Rescue Plan funding.

    Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi joined Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Congresswoman Anna Eshoo and local scientists for a tour of the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory at Stanford. The tour highlighted world-class U.S. research in biotech and energy as part of the Department of State’s new Bureau of Cyberspace and Digital Policy. The Inflation Reduction Act provides $2 billion for National Labs, and the CHIPS and Science Act incentivizes semiconductor manufacturing, energy research and advanced computing research initiatives.

  • Combatting Hunger & Food Insecurity

    Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi joined San Francisco-Marin Food Bank Vice Chair Johnathan Walker, Executive Director Tanis Crosby and the rest of the Staff and Board at the ribbon cutting of their new warehouse expansion, which will allow the Food Bank to distribute 75 million pounds annually from its two primary facilities, serving up to 200,000 people per week. Pelosi celebrated the important work that SFMFB does in distributing food throughout the city and highlighted the recent $1 million dollars in federal Community Project Funding she secured for the Food Bank’s new 5,200 square foot walk in cooler.

    Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi joined Rudy Corpuz, Jr., Founder and Executive Director of United Playaz, to honor UP’s 28th Anniversary with programs providing youth with adult support, academic enrichment and leadership skills under the motto “It Takes The Hood to Save The Hood.” Pelosi highlighted the work United Playaz does to make our community safer from gun violence and make the future better for young people. In the Congress, Pelosi has been fighting to secure $4 million to help United Playaz expand into a new building.
  • Celebrating Central Subway

    Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi joined Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Mayor London Breed, local transportation and community leaders touring the new Central Subway Muni Metro line between the Union Square and Chinatown Stations, where they discussed the importance of infrastructure investments – including the Bipartisan Infrastructure La’s largest investment in transit in our nation’s history. The Central Subway, scheduled to open this Fall, will provide a direct, rapid transit line between Chinatown, Downtown, and the existing T-Third line, and received over $1 billion in federal funding secured by Congresswoman Pelosi.

    Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi joined Mayor London Breed, mothers of gun violence victims and gun violence prevention advocates at the United Playaz Clubhouse in SOMA during the Gun Violence Prevention Day of Action. Pelosi highlighted the recently enacted Bipartisan Safer Communities Act and the House-passed Assault Weapons Ban of 2022.
