This bill combines components of the Puerto Rico Statehood Admissions Act and the Puerto Rico Self-Determination Act to give the people of Puerto Rico the ability to make an informed choice about their political future.

WASHINGTON, DC - Today, amid extreme MAGA Republicans’ continued threats to Pennsylvanians' personal freedoms, Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02) voted for passage of the Respect for Marriage Act. This landmark legislation takes several key steps to defend marriage equality: it enshrines the marriage equality for same sex and interracial couples guaranteed by Obergefell and Loving for the purposes of federal law, repeals the discriminatory and unconstitutional Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), and provide additional legal protections for marriage equality.
