WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Andy Levin (D-Bloomfield Township) announced that the U.S. House of Representatives voted to pass his bill H.R. 7519, designating the post office at 2050 South Boulevard in Bloomfield Township, Michigan, as the “Dr. Ezra S. Parke Post Office Building” by voice vote.

Dr. Ezra Parke and his family moved to Bloomfield Township in 1822, fifteen years before Michigan became a state. He was a dedicated public servant who established the first post office in the area and helped lay the foundation for effective local government.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Andy Levin (D-Bloomfield Township) announced that the U.S. House of Representatives voted last night to pass his bill H.R. 7518, designating the post office at 23200 John R. Road in Hazel Park, Michigan as the “Roy E. Dickens Post Office” by voice vote.

After his tenure with the U.S. Army, Roy Eugene Dickens joined the Hazel Park Police Department in 1967 and retired from duty in 1995. He went to work as a court officer until 2010, making him the longest-serving public official in Hazel Park’s history.
