Advocacy doesn't sleep.
Getting Guam included in favorable terms with U.S. Trading partners is critical to opening up our capacity for transpacific trade and export-oriented industry for our island.
We have written to the President seeking such in the newly announced Indo-Pacific Economic Framework that will establish updated trade relations throughout our region, and expressed such directly to the primary person spearheading this for the country.
The pandemic has revealed many things, but perhaps most importantly it has shown that the PEOPLE are the ones that will overcome any challenge and achieve any outcome, and our government must support them in doing so.

Over $1.5B for Guam in 2023 NDAA, other amendments
As the Congress moves forward the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for FY 2023, Congressman San Nicolas anticipates over $1.5 Billion for Guam.

In the continuing effort to enhance Guam food security and bring greater local control to the price of food on Guam, Congressman San Nicolas has engaged the appropriations process to fund a Custom Slaughterhouse facility on Guam, and testified to such before the Committee on Agriculture.

Congressman pushes for Guam inclusion in U.S. Free Trade Agreements
In a letter to President Biden, Congressman San Nicolas has urged the Administration to ensure that Territories are included in plans to secure and update existing U.S. Free Trade Agreements.
"While our island is currently outside of the U.S. Customs Zone enabling us to have duty-free status on imports, our exclusion from U.S. Free Trade Agreements inhibits us from being able to capitalize on favorable Trade terms," said Congressman San Nicolas.
