Issues
Through ingenuity and innovation, America's families have reached new levels of prosperity. I believe the best way to lift people out of poverty and improve their quality of life is through a good-paying job. Free markets, entrepreneurship, and innovation, not more government, will move this country forward. Rather than placing job-killing mandates on small businesses, I support further tax reform, cutting red tape, and other policies that will grow our economy and get more Americans back to work.
I believe all Americans should have access to the high-quality, affordable health care of their choosing. I fully support ensuring coverage for those with pre-existing conditions and believe that free market solutions and competitive innovation, not government mandates, will provide coverage options that suit the specific needs of Pennsylvania's families. Congress must work to pass real reforms that will address the rising costs of prescription drugs, encourage innovation in treatments and cures, and preserve coverage choice.
Since coming to Congress, I have been a strong advocate for proposals to support our veterans and their families. The brave men and women who served our nation deserve the very best we can provide them, and I will continue to support policies that address veteran homelessness, employment opportunities, and health care quality.
America has long had one of the most generous immigration systems in the world. Today, criminals and gang members are taking advantage of that generosity and putting American lives at risk. Congress needs to pass legislation to fix our broken immigration system, enhance border security with a wall, and end dangerous sanctuary city policies.
I am committed to protecting Social Security and Medicare for today's seniors and future generations. These programs provide an important safety net to millions of Americans and were promised to recipients who invested in them. I do not support efforts to privatize Social Security or dismantle Medicare. Congress must make it a priority to find real solutions to address the solvency of these programs before it is too late.
Pro-Life
I believe all life is sacred and every person has dignity, value, and a right to life. We share a responsibility to protect the lives of unborn children. I have made it a priority to push for pro-life policies and will continue to represent the values of southwestern Pennsylvania in Washington D.C. by supporting legislation that protects the sanctity of life.
