Rep. Calvert Announces Military Academy Nominations
Today, Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-42) announced the students from the 42nd Congressional District he nominated to attend the U.S. Service Academies. As a Member of Congress, Rep. Calvert has the privilege of nominating a select group of highly qualified young men and women from the 42nd District for an appointment to one or more U.S. Service Academies—Air Force, Naval, Military and Merchant Marine.
“I am proud to nominate these outstanding young men and women from Riverside County to attend our U.S. Service Academies,” said Rep. Calvert. “Answering the call to serve our nation is a truly honorable act. These students are extraordinary representatives of our region and, if accepted, will no doubt excel at our Service Academies.”
Rep. Calvert's Academy Nominations Selection Committee recently evaluated candidates from the 42nd Congressional District, who were seeking a nomination to one or more of our nation's military Service Academies. The Service Academies will now evaluate the nominees based on their academic, athletic and physical qualifications and extend an appointment to the best qualified students that Rep. Calvert has nominated.
Twenty-nine candidates were selected to receive Congressman Calvert’s nomination. They are as follows:
