Washington, D.C. – Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01), a member of the Congressional LGBTQ+ Equality Caucus, celebrated the passage of The Respect for Marriage Act. This bill repeals the discriminatory Defense of Marriage Act and safeguards the right to same-sex and interracial marriages by requiring the federal government and every state in our country to recognize them as valid. It is now headed to President Biden’s desk to be signed into law.
