Congressman C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger is currently serving his 10th term representing Maryland’s Second District. He is a member of the powerful House Appropriations Committee, where he fights to make sure Maryland gets its fair share of the pie. Back home in the district, he helps constituents navigate federal agencies and programs including Medicare, Social Security and the VA.
The boundaries of Maryland’s Congressional districts are redrawn each decade to reflect changes in population. The U.S. Census provides the basis for the redistricting process, which is then carried out at the state level as required by the Maryland Constitution.
I will continue to serve and advocate for all current constituents of Maryland's Second District through December 2022. Starting in January 2023, the district will change.
One of the most important jobs I have in Congress is helping my constituents when they are having problems with federal agencies. I'm excited to announce I have launched a new digital Privacy Act release form, in addition to former PAR forms, to further streamline the federal casework process for residents of Maryland's Second District.

So far this year, Maryland families have reported losing more than $1 million stolen Supplemental Nutrition Assistance (SNAP) benefits compared to $92,000 in reported losses in 2021.
