Congressional App Challenge

I would like to invite middle school and high school students in Michigan's 7th District to participate in the 2020 Congressional App Challenge (CAC). The CAC promotes STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education by providing the opportunity for a student or a team of students to design and program an app. An app is a piece of software made to run on a computer, smart phone, or other electronic device. Students may create any type of app they like (web, PC, tablet, mobile or other platform of their choice).

Each congressional district will select a winning app. The 2020 CAC runs from June 1 through October 19, 2020. Local judges selected by my office will subsequently evaluate the submissions and select a winning app, which will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building along with winners from other congressional districts across the country.

Important updates and details regarding eligibility, submission requirements, registration, pertinent dates, and resources for students can be found at www.congressionalappchallenge.us. Students can register for the competition here. Please call my Jackson District Office at 517-780-9075 or email Leeann.Yamakawa@mail.house.gov with any questions. Good luck!
