Reproductive Rights

SCOTUS’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade not only stripped away a woman's right to choose but ripped away our right to privacy in our bedrooms, marriages, and doctor’s offices. Overturning a woman's right to privacy and medical care is an assault on the health and well-being of women and families everywhere. Now more than ever, we need to fight to protect the right to make our own decisions about our bodies in consultation with our own faith, families, and doctors — without government interference.

I trust the women of America to make decisions about their bodies. That’s why I cosponsored and helped the House pass the Ensuring Access to Abortion Act, which ensures a person's ability to access out-of-state abortion services. New Mexico codified abortion access in 2021 and removed a 1969 law that criminalized abortion. The Senate should finally eliminate the filibuster so they can vote on the Women's Health Protection Act to codify the right to abortion without governmental interference.
