REPRESENTATIVE BARRAGÁN CPF REQUESTS
COMMUNITY PROJECT FUNDING
As the Representative of California’s 44th Congressional District, Congresswoman Barragán is committed to ensuring that our federal dollars are spent wisely and in the best interests of her constituents.
Community Project Funding (CPF) is an initiative begun in 2021 (for Fiscal Year 2022) that set aside a percentage of federal dollars to allow Members of Congress to request funding for projects in their communities. CPF is separate from federal grants and funding apportioned by formula, and is governed by strict requirements to promote transparency and prevent waste, fraud, and abuse.
Projects are restricted to a limited number of federal funding streams, and only state and local governments and eligible non-profit entities are permitted to receive funding. Additional information on CPF rules and requirements is available here.

In compliance with House Rules and Committee requirements, Rep. Barragán has certified that she and her immediate family have no financial interest in any of the projects she has requested.
TO SUBMIT A CPF REQUEST:
In 2022 (for Fiscal Year 2023) each Member of Congress is provided the opportunity to submit a total of 15 community project funding requests across the relevant House Appropriations subcommittees. The subcommittees will make the final determination on which projects will be included in the annual appropriations bills to receive funding.
Congresswoman Barragán invites all eligible entities to submit proposals for community project funding by completing the Community Project Funding Request Form and sending to sean.kearns@mail.houe.gov. The deadline to submit community project funding requests for FY23 is Monday, April 11, 2022.
Only projects with demonstrated community support will be considered. Supporting documents, such as letters of support from elected officials or press articles highlighting the need for the requested project, will be accepted through Friday, April 15, 2022.
Community project funding will only be awarded through specific federal agency accounts determined by the Appropriations subcommittees. For more information on the types of projects eligible within each subcommittee, please click on the links below or contact my office at (310) 831-1799.
