Request for Proposals: WA-08 Surface Transportation Projects

The Office of Congresswoman Kim Schrier, M.D. (WA-08) is soliciting proposals for surface transportation projects in Washington’s 8th Congressional District that would benefit from federal funding.

In the coming months, the U.S. House of Representatives will draft surface transportation legislation. In order to ensure legislation meets the needs of Washington and in particular the 8th District, Congresswoman Schrier will submit potential projects to the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. Please note that the Congresswoman cannot guarantee that any project(s) submitted here will receive funding. Final decisions regarding which projects are identified as priorities to receive federal funding will be made by the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.

Projects that support local economies, improve resiliency for extreme weather events, and conserve natural landscapes are highly encouraged to apply.

Requirements from the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee include:

Documentation that the project is on the State, Tribal, or territorial transportation improvement program (STIP), and on the metropolitan transportation improvement program (TIP), if applicable
Sources of funding for the full share of the cost of the project beyond the amount requested
Letter(s) of support from the State Department of Transportation, local governments, transit agency, or other non-federal sponsor
A description of the public comment process that has been or will be followed
Project phase (e.g., Planning, Final Design, Construction)
NEPA category of action (e.g., Categorical Exclusion, Environmental Assessment, Environmental Impact Statement)
Status of environmental review
Whether the project has received federal funding previously, and if so, the source and amount
